Write to us

cyclopes@localhost.co.zw

A person reads it. Replies within one working day, Monday to Friday, Central Africa Time (UTC+2). There is no phone line and no chat widget: this is a two-person product and answering properly in writing beats answering badly in real time.

Reporting something broken? Send the organization slug, the project, and roughly when it happened. Cyclopes watches itself, so a timestamp is usually enough for us to find your request in our own logs.

The app will not pair

The app never asks for your password. It takes a one-time activation code instead:

  1. Sign in on the web at https://cyclopes.localhost.co.zw.
  2. Click connect app, top right.
  3. Type the code it shows into the app, along with the server address.

The code is eight characters, single use, and valid for ten minutes. If it is refused, the usual cause is that it has expired or has already been used: generate a fresh one. Codes never contain the letters O, I or L, or the digits 0 and 1, so anything that looks like one of those is the other.

Self-hosting? The server address is your own installation, not ours, and the code has to come from that installation's dashboard.

I cannot sign in

Use reset your password. If you signed up with Google or GitHub, use that button rather than a password: the accounts are linked by verified email address, so both routes reach the same place.

If your organization has been suspended you can still sign in and read everything. The suspension notice on the dashboard says why, and billing stays reachable so you can act on it.

What the app stores about me

The app holds an API token, the server address, your email address, and your own settings, all in the app's private storage on the device. Signing out removes the token, and deleting the app removes the file with it.

Everything else is read from your Cyclopes server on demand and is never copied anywhere else. The app is read-only against the server, with two exceptions it makes plain: registering the handset for push, and acknowledging an incident that paged you.

Delete my account

In the app: settings → your account → delete my account. On the web: the deletion page.

Deletion is scheduled 7 days out, and signing back in during those 7 days cancels it. The deletion page lists exactly what is erased and what survives.

Billing

Reading, alerting by email and push are free. SMS and WhatsApp cost real money at a carrier, so those are charged per message and paid from a wallet you top up. Every charge is itemised against the alert that caused it, in your organization's billing page.

A refund question is a support question: write to cyclopes@localhost.co.zw and quote the reference from the billing page.
